Cognitive Processing: Engaging in thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and learning.
Social Interaction: Communicating with others, forming relationships, and participating in social activities.
Physical Activity: Performing tasks that require movement, such as exercising, walking, or working.
Emotional Regulation: Managing emotions, expressing feelings, and coping with stress.
Perception: Interpreting sensory information from the environment, such as sight, sound, touch, smell and taste.
Planning: Setting goals, making plans, and organizing tasks for day and future.
Creativity: Engaging in artistic pursuits, brainstorming, and thinking.
Self-Care: Taking care of personal hygiene, nutrition, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities: Focusing on responsibilities and completing tasks set to be completed within the time period.
Reflection and Introspection: Thinking about personal experiences, values, and beliefs to gain insight.
These functions we do in our daily life, maintaining well-being, and achieving tasks set by ourselves.
These functions are done, by our Body and Mind. When all these functions are done by our Mind and Body, there is a sense of “I” inside us.
“I” who do all these functions.

Sleep
The 3rd time-period we spend in a day is Sleep:
Lying down on a bed or closing eyes, and thoughts playing on your Mind is not a sleep. There are many types of sleep. Basically, the sleep is categorised in three types. Thay are, Light-sleep, Rapid-eye-movement (REM)-sleep and Deep-sleep.
Light Sleep
In this type of sleep, there will be no body movement. Heart beat rate, breath rate will come down. There will be lot of breaks in between in this type of sleep depending on the comfort of the bed, outside interference, stress and strain. The slightest disturbance will make the person wakeup. This sleep covers maximum time of more than 50% of total sleep.

REM sleep
REM Sleep or Rapid-Eye-Movement Sleep
In this state of sleep as per science this is a Dream sleep and we are the Dreamers.
Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep is characterized as quick movements of the eyes. This is a unique phase of sleep played by the Mind in the absence of physical movements of Body or called as Dream. Some key features of REM sleep are:
Rapid Eye Movements: So for there is no scientific explanation on this. How ever one of the explanations is that, the eyes move rapidly under the eyelids, which is where the name comes from. Though the eyelids are closed the eyes below eyelids keep moving in search of "I" to find what is happening in the deram, as if the body's eyes normally do in the awake state. Hence the rapid movement of eyes.
Dreaming: Most vivid dreams occur played by the Mind during this phase in the absence of actual presence of body in the scene of the deram.
Muscular immobility: The body experiences temporary muscular immobility of most of the muscles, preventing from practical acting according to the dreams.
Sleep Cycle: REM sleep typically occurs after falling asleep throughout the night, with each episode of the dream getting longer as the night progresses.
Overall, REM sleep Dream plays a crucial role depending on our Mind's memory system. In this REM sleep the dreamer is present as an actor or a watcher of the scene. Though the dreamer is present in the dream scene, the actual physical presence body will not be there. This will be a Minds activity in the absence of actual physical body in the dream. These REM sleep scenes and events remain in the short memory and disappear after some time.

This type of sleep will be for a short duration and there will be neither Physical nor Mind activity when the person is in deep sleep. Both Body and Mind are absent. The person awakes form deep sleep when there is physical disturbance. Though the body in the state of deep sleep and physical movements are not there and no initiation of any activity by "I", the body continues to do its functioning such a heartbeat, breath, digestion, liver and kidney functioning etc. This happens due to the hidden memory system of the body. In deep sleep Mind will be in deep sleep but the body though the physical movements are not there, the body does not fully sleep. Body fully sleeps and inactive only once in the life time that is the final and end of life.

Finally
This article about our body mind awake and sleep, which only generates a question in our Mind who we really are? or WHO AM I?
This is article is not an answer to the question WHO AM I?
In the awake state the person’s body and mind are present and active. There is a sense of “I”.
In the Light sleep state, the body and mind is present and react to the slightest disturbance. There is a sense of “I”.
In the REM sleep state while dreaming, though the body is not physically present in the scene, the body presence is felt by the Mind. By the mind there is a sense of “I”.
In the deep sleep state, the Body and Mind are absent, there is no awake state nor REM state, but the Body keeps doing its biological functions on its own, without the concern of "I". Here there is no sense of “I”.
At on stage body and mind of “I” are present and in another stage neither the body nor the mind the sense of “I” is present, but still the body keeps doing its functions and keeps the person alive.
Who does all these functions of “I”. The question arises here who is that “I” or
