Railway Protection Force (RPF) is an armed force of the Union, under the administrative and operational control of Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways, Government of India established by the Railway Protection Force Act, 1957;enacted by the Indian Parliament for "the better protection and security of railway property and passenger area". It has the power to search, arrest, enquire, and prosecute offenses committed under the Railways Act, Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act 1966 and the Railways Act, 1989 and other Acts (amended from time to time).
RPF Personnel like any other Para Military Personnel Retire from Service on attaining age of 60 years, after serving the nation 35+ years of their prime life. During service they earn abundant knowledge and Experience in the field of security, Investigations and Law of the Land and that of Life. Thus, they are the Veterans in the Field of Security and Investigations etc
This Association is formed for the Welfare of the Retired RPF personnel of South Western Railway and those Personnel who reside in Karnataka area, with its Office at Bangalore. This Association is started in the year 2015 duly registering it with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies Bangalore District under Reg No.SOR/RJR/S-55/2015-16

There are more than 100 Members registered in RPFVWA. Though all most all members are brought on WhatsApp group, on some occasions it was found that there were deaths of some members. It was not even known to other members and office bearers. As such there was no opportunity to attend even the funeral. It was observed that the members when they fall sick they do not feel like informing other members. It is a fact that, if close friends and relatives meet or talk to the sickly person, it will have great relief to him and will help in recovering from illness. As such five voluntary representatives among the members were selected as MWCR (Members Wellbeing Check Representative), and asked them to select their group among the members who are well known and close to them.
Their task will be that, they regularly contact their group members and talk to their group members about their wellbeing and report the matter to the General Secretary. If any of the member is sick the GS will alert the other members and will take necessary steps to mee the sickly person render necessary help.

Sri C Siddalingaiah is an exprert in treditional health related matters like training the local people in yoga and other phycial exercises. He also prepares and give local medicines prepared on Aurvedic lines. He also guides the members during the association meets.
